WHAT IS TRANS-ATLANTIC AND PACIFIC ALLIANCE OF CHURCHES?

Trans-Atlantic and Pacific Alliance of Churches is a uniting body of Independent Charismatic/Pentecostal churches and organizations throughout the world; giving guidance, support, empowerment, training & education, authenticity and recognition to those individuals and churches and their leaders which are members of the Alliance.

By the Alliance, TAPAC:

  • Enables members to work in close co-operation with one another

  • Gives strength to the weak and encouragement to the strong by sharing ideas, personnel and resources.

  • Opens up many possible opportunities for members in the long or short-term missions.

  • TAPAC harnesses the special gifts of its individual members and member churches for the wider recognition and use in continuing the work of our Lord Jesus Christ until He returns.

We do this to ensure that TAPAC continues to be an able organization that is ardent about helping people called by God to offer their services where God has sent them on the harvest field.

The rule of faith and practice for TAPAC is derived from the Holy Bible. The Theological interpretation of our doctrinal position is guided by the belief that the Holy Spirit is the interpreter.

TAPAC asserts that God reveals doctrine, and that He continually gives spiritual insight for God’s historical plan before the foundation of the world, manifested in these last days through His Son Jesus Christ.

It is the prayer of TAPAC that the unity and alliance of God’s people should be based on the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
In recognition of the diversity of doctrines and customs, which are represented by the participating churches and organizations, TAPAC does not set up a statement of Faith beyond the following Biblical Affirmations:

The Godhead – We believe in the one true God, who has revealed
Himself as the eternally self-existent the “ I AM,” existing in three persons: The Father, The Son-Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit.  These three are distinguished but indivisible in Essence: co-eternal, co-existing, co-equal in nature, attributes, power, and glory (2Cor.13:14, Matt. 28:19).

The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God – It is the infallible rule of faith and conduct and as such is above conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (2Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Thess.2:13)

Original sin and fallen Humanity – Man and woman were created good and upright, for God said, “let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” The first man, Adam through disobedience fell from the position God intended for mankind and thus sin and death entered into the world. Adam’s transgressions incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God. The resultant depravity of sinful human nature necessitates salvation and redemption from the power of sin, which can only be obtained through the Lord Jesus Christ (Gen. 1:26-31; 2: 17; 3: 6-24; Romans 5:12-21).

The Salvation of Man – Humankind’s only hope for redemption and salvation from the power of sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4: 8-12; Rom. 5:8-21; 10:9-10). Salvation is by the grace of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; it is the gift of God and not the works of any man. Salvation is an inward witness of the Holy Spirit, that we are the children of God. (Rom. 8:16)

The Lord Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Matt. 1:18). In His love for lost humanity He voluntarily gave His life on the cross, one sacrifice for sins forever, and thereby He became the Saviour of the World (John 2: 1-2).  We believe that He rose from the dead,  and he appeared to many in the flesh (John 20: 16-31) and that when He departed the earth, He ascended into Heaven where He remains at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us (Rom.8: 34).

The Holy Spirit.
The fruit of the Holy Spirit: The work of Holy Spirit in our live is evidenced by: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit: The power of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers and is manifested through spiritual gifts. To one is given the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge, to another faith, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another the ability to speak in different kinds of tongues and still to another the interpretation of tongues. The Holy Spirit is also our teacher and the source of power for life and our service in the ministry. (Gal 5:7-9; 1 Cor. 12:1-12; Luke 12: 12; 2: 1-47; Is. 53: 4; Matt 18: 16-17).

Ordinances of the Church.
We believe that the Lord gave the following ordinances to the church and therefore must be observed accordingly.

Baptism in water: The Ordinance of Baptism is the symbolic identification of the believer with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28: 19, Acts 10: 47-48; Rom. 6:4).

The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion: The Holy Communion is the expression of our partaking of the divine nature of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4) and a memorial of His suffering and death. (1 Cor. 11: 26) enjoined on all believers.

The Second Coming of Christ – “Jesus Christ will return to the earth in the clouds in the same manner as He departed” (Acts 1:11)

The Final Judgment – There will be a final judgment in which the dead will be raised and will be judged. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophets, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Matt. 25: 46; Heb. 9: 20; Rev. 20:10-15; 21:1-27).

The New Heaven and the New Earth
The Lord shall create a new earth and new heaven void of suffering and Woes but peace, love and joy, Christ being the ruler (Rev. 21:1)
